There are lots of counsellors and it can be hard to choose, so a bit about me.
I see counselling as a really collaborative experience, a journey we share, not one where I hold the power over you as the client.
I have worked for over ten years as a Samaritan, running the branch in Canterbury for three of those and training other Samaritans. Much of my professional work has been with both young people aged 16 to 18 and adults.
Working as a counsellor and Samaritan has placed me in situations with clients on the brink, in desperate and hopeless situations but also callers who need a friendly and empathetic voice with whom to share worries. Over the years I have come to recognise how powerful it can be for people to share something they have never shared before, to find a way through, to see hope, to feel heard.
I have a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics. I am GDPR compliant and I am registered with the ICO.
