Guy helped me after I lost three people close to me in a short period of time. He is an excellent listener; kind, non-judgemental but also very insightful. Sometimes just one gentle question would be a useful prompt for me to take away and reflect upon

Guy is a highly empathetic person with a caring and compassionate nature. I have an enormous respect for his professionalism and humanity

Guy is a really good listener. I felt heard for the first time in a very long time. He makes me feel really comfortable and I feel I can say anything to him. He really cares about me and what I have to say

Guy has a gentle, unassuming nature which allows you to quickly build a rapport with one another based on mutual trust. His approach is highly considered, taking the time to give you space to talk, and just be whilst at the same time listening carefully to what is, and what is not, being said. This enables him to ask you the right questions at the right place, helping you work through the matters at hand in a meaningful and purposeful way.

Guy was recommended as a counsellor to speak to after I suffered a traumatic event. He was empathetic, a caring ear and provided ideas and “coping mechanisms” that helped more than I thought possible. I would recommend Guy to anyone, not just for post-trauma counselling but as general counsellor or therapist.

Guy and I walked regularly during lockdown which was a real life-line. He is a compassionate and empathetic listener and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. He also knows some beautiful walks in the Canterbury area so a double win!

I wouldn’t know where to start to explain how working with Guy has helped me to find myself. Back in June 2023 I walked into Guy’s therapy room a shell of a person like (a pile of lego bricks) who was lost and very depressed with BPD ADHD anxiety OCD and a eating disorder, unable to spend time safely alone and pretty much satisfied that if I passed away tomorrow it would be a good thing . However, having worked with and am still working with Guy 10 month later with a mix of online while I went home to France and in person while at uni. He has enabled me to see within myself that I have intrinsic skills to battle life. By working on the approach of person-centred therapy he has enabled me to be able to step out of situations, I usually would act on impulse and to stop and think before I act. This as a result has dramatically reduced by A and E visits and has made me be able to relies that emotions are only a period of time and acting on impulse tends to be a permanent solution to a tempory emotion . As side from impulse work Guy has helped me to be able to focus on the positive things that go on in the day as we naturally tend to remember the bad things its human instinct, but now I am able to at the end of a bad day sit and write down at least three things that where good about the day . We also worked on how to express emotions through safe outlets which ended in drawing out emotions to be able to explain them to myself and others.
Over all I would highly recommend Guy to those in a place where they feel it’s the end for them as he has the potential to help you see that life will get better it’s about knowing that emotions “comes and goes in waves” just like Dean Lewis states in his song Waves. He also helped me to term the pile of lego bricks into a house with a person inside that I am now happy to be alone with just like Ed Sheeran song Lego house.
